Josh Tobin - Synthetic Data Will Help Computer Vision Make the Jump to the Real World
Keynote: Synthetic Data Will Help Computer Vision Make the Jump to the Real World
Modern deep learning and artificial intelligence is data-hungry. Josh will share how computer vision will bridge the gap in applications where data collection is expensive. He will make the case for synthetic data and describe how OpenAI uses synthetic data to learn perception models for real-world robotic control. Josh is a PhD student in computer science at University of California, Berkeley and has a BA in Mathematics from Columbia University.
